We had a busy week. We were most excited about our Leprechaun Trap Building Extravaganza! I will post some pictures of the contractors and designers at work on the Shutterfly page. The kids loved the task and it required lots of tape was used. We wrote about what we would wish for if we caught a leprechaun. On St. Patrick’s Day morning, we checked each trap and unfortunately we didn’t catch any rascally little sprites. It was hilarious to find our water bottle water turned green and so was the toilet water! Those generous gentlemen left us a special pin and green coin!
We were treated to a Taiko Drumming show on Wednesday. Mrs. Lane’s 1/2 is studying Japan and they shared the performance with the whole school. If you’ve never seen Taiko, I really recommend it! The performer told us that the troupe is looking for new drummers so if your little one is interested their website is: http://www.burlingtontaiko.org.
We continue to learn about birds and finished up our work with the mallard duck. We will add to our knowledge about birds through a visual input chart and a variety of poems and songs. Here’s the link to the Bald Eagle Cam that I sent via email this morning in case you want to check on the amazing birds again: http://www.eagles.org/dceaglecam/
We are SO looking forward to our work with Tracey Campbell Pearson on Tuesday. Join us if you can!
