I hope you had a super duper week with your families. Sawyer and I had a blast in Florida visiting his grandparents. Peter and I did a high five in the airport as he arrived on Saturday and I departed on Sunday morning! We are looking forward to April break already so we can all have the same week off!
Follow my lead…
We were lucky to have a visiting teacher from the Flynn Theater on Tuesday morning. Sue Bailey is a dance teacher who came to work with us. She helped us to learn about symmetry, reflection, and rotation in dance. On 3/9, our whole school will be going to a dance/magic/math performance at the Flynn. Her visit was an amazing way for us to get ready for the show! The entire school participated in the workshop with Sue and the visit was completely subsidized by the Flynn. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership with the Flynn. What a gift to our students!
In math, we investigated money values by labeling and creating a money museum. The children did a super job of working together to sort and to organize a group of coins. We also practiced counting with our tables, chairs and legs!! I wonder if any of you got to help with that “homework?!”
We will be having Parent Conferences on 3/7 and 3/9. Report Cards will go home on 3/10 and there is no school on 3/11.
Please check the conference sheet to make sure your assigned time will work. If you didn’t get a time, please indicate a time that will work for your family and return that sheet on MONDAY!
